Cosmic Soup

Cosmic Soup explores how light, colour, and sound can shift our sense of space. Each work begins with analogue photography: the exposed film is soaked in “film soup”—salt, vinegar, and other solutions that disrupt the emulsion and create organic distortions. These chemical reactions generate textures that resemble analogue noise, cracks, blooms, and colour shifts.
The resulting images are printed on transparent stock and layered over acrylic paintings, allowing luminous colour fields to glow through fractured imagery. This interplay of surfaces creates depth and movement as light catches, scatters, and slips between layers.
Presented with large-format colour-field paintings on canvas and a custom soundscape, Cosmic Soup forms an immersive environment. It invites slow looking and listening—tuning attention to the subtle interactions of texture, light, and vibration.
